VerseTap (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by VerseTap.

1. Information We Collect

VerseTap is designed to be privacy-first. By default, we collect no personal data. Your notes and library data are stored locally on your device.

A. Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable Cloud Backup, VerseTap requests access to your Google Drive.

• We only access files created by VerseTap: We use the restricted scope www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This means we cannot see, edit, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.
• Data Usage: This access is used solely to upload a backup file (versetap_cloud_backup.json) and retrieve it when you restore.
• No Third-Party Sharing: Your backup data travels directly between your device and Google’s servers. We do not store, view, or process this data on our own servers.

2. Log Data & Analytics

We do not track your usage behavior, sermon content, or Bible study habits.

3. AI Features

When you use the “Verse Lookup” feature, the text you highlight is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to identify the Bible reference. This data is transient and is not used to train models or stored permanently.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
